Infants need to be bathed ~3-4 times a week. Here are the bare essentials you'll need for bath time. Numbers in parentheses are Betty's recs for how many to get.
Hooded towel (2-4)
Hooded towels are great to keep your little one’s head warm when you take them out of the bath. Adjust your count based on how frequently you do laundry.
Wash cloths (5-8)
Wash cloths are necessary to wipe down your little one (on no-bath days) or to help lather soap during baths.
Fragrance free bath soap (1 bottle)
Baby soap is often used as both shampoo and body soap. It’s important to get something fragrance free or very mildly scented so that it doesn’t irritate your little one. Gentle soaps are also important so that it doesn’t dry out your baby’s skin.
Bathtub / seat (1)
Newborn babies don’t have enough neck strength to support their heads during a bath. It’s helpful to have a seat you can place your little one in while you clean them. A little basin or bathtub is also necessary if you don’t have a tub or don’t want to fill up the entire tub for each bath. If you don't have a handheld shower head, you'll also need a little rinse cup to pour water.
